Contemporary Issues

Contemporary Issues is a one semester elective Social Sciences course open to all MHS students.  During the semester students will explore a variety of issues and how they relate to government, society and the individual.  Units include an exploration of the media, terrorism, human rights and democracy, constitutional rights, education, poverty, women and minorities, and health care.  Students will examine what Americans think, and more specifically what each individual student thinks, are important to our country.
