SOCIAL WORKER

Middletown Public Schools is looking for a Social Worker to work in a program designed specifically for child care programs funded by the School Readiness Grant, which is supervised by the School Readiness Coordinator.  This position is needed to support community early childhood programs.  The position will help to provide social work services and support for families in child care programs within the City of Middletown.  
 
Job Description:  Communicate directly with program administration in order to establish families in need of social/emotional an dparenting assistance.  Meet with staff, parents and child(ren) to determine need and devise appropriate service plan.  Connect children and families with appropriate community support services when necessary.  Communicate and collaborate with all parties involved with the child(ren) and family.  Make connections with Kindergarten teacher, school and staff to ensure a smooth transition and build relationships.  Report to the School Readiness Coordinator.

Qualifications:  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, or a related field, and experience working with familes with social/emotional issues.  Familiarity with Middletown Support services.  Salary:  $6,000 for 10 hours per week of services starting February 2015 through approximately August 2015.  Flexible schedule based upon child care center and parent need.  This is a grant funded position.  For more information or to apply for the position, please go to our applications page.
