New WWMS Principal appointed!

The Middletown Board of Education has appointed Joseph A. Cassella Principal of Woodrow Wilson Middle School effective August 1, 2012.  Mr. Cassella has been Principal of Wesley Elementary School in Middletown since 1998.  Prior to that he was Assistant Principal at Cromwell High School from 1994 – 1998.  From 1985 to 1994 he was an elementary and middle school teacher in Southington.

Board of Education Chair, Dr. Gene Nocera said, “I am extremely pleased that Joe Cassella will be assuming the principalship of Wilson Middle School.  Joe is a terrific educator and outstanding educational leader.  We are truly fortunate to have him on our Leadership Team.”

Sylvia Webb, Retired Principal of Spencer Elementary School in Middletown, will be serving as Interim Principal at Wesley Elementary School while the Superintendent and Board of Education conduct a search to replace Mr. Cassella.
