Bielefield Elementary School
Principal's Message
Frederick J. Bielefield School takes pride in providing a quality academic program in a culturally rich, diverse environment. We offer a comprehensive program that includes full day kindergarten, special and related services for identified students, a gifted program, art, music, physical education, 21st Century after-school programs, and technology beyond the core areas. Our after school program is available to students in grades one through five four days a week, offering a variety of programs tied to the curriculum.
We promote character development through the school-wide implementation of Effective Behavior Support. The acronym ROARS (Respect, Organization, Acceptance, Responsibility, and Safety) represents and reinforces our behavioral competencies through proactive approaches such as the ROARS Rally where students are recognized weekly for accomplishments. This year we will support our district's new Wellness Policy through improved nutrition and fitness practices. We will continue to expand our growing emphasis on inquiry based science instruction, as well as the connection between literacy, numeracy, and the content areas.
Bielefield School is committed to strengthening the bond between school and family. An active and effective PTA supports field trips, multicultural events, family nights, author, and storyteller. A School/Family Compact articulates our commitment to family involvement. Our Parent Involvement Committee is working to broaden family involvement. Bielefield distributes a Parent and Student Handbook as a guide to our school for new and returning families. We maintain a website, a weekly newsletter (The Bobcat) and Infoline. Our community is fully committed to helping our students achieve to their fullest potential. Bielefield students are engaged learners who pursue their education vigorously. We invite your support and involvement for the success of all our students.
