Welcome To All Returning and New Crew Families;

It is that time of year again! As you may know, we run a food tent during races to provide our team with meals due to the length of the events and because it is a long standing tradition in crew. Sometimes we make up to three meals.

Those not familiar with how the tent runs, here is what we do:

Each team member attending a race will be assigned something to bring for the food tent for each race. You will be given ample notice as to what you will need to contribute. The food list will be sent out via email and will be posted at the boathouse as well as on our Website.

It is, also, extremely important that each team member brings in their assigned item prior to the start of the racing on race day – in other words the kids will be told when they are expected at the boathouse on race day and they should arrive with their assigned item at this time. Missed items can create a large problem in preparing and/or feeding our large team. We need to have the entire food list available in order to make the food in a timely manner.

If a team member won’t be attending a race please let the coaches know a.s.a.p.

Novice team members will probably not be required to attend all races. However, if they are asked to attend they will be asked to contribute to the food tent since they will be fed also.
We usually have enough food to share with the parents, also. Please feel free to enjoy!

We enthusiastically WELCOME help at the food tent, especially during serving times. This is a great time to get to know the kids and to mingle with fellow parents.

This year we are asking all parents to check in at the food tent when you arrive, even if you are not working at the tent, and receive a name tag. Please record your name and the child you are there cheering on. Even if you are not helping at the tent it is a great place to congregate. We will try this year to set up a parents “cheering section” if we can find a space that works for everyone.
