AWARD:  The Middletown Public Schools is the recipient of the ASBO International Meritorious Budget Award for its 2006-2007 Adopted Budget.  It has the distinction of being the only school district in the State of Connecticut to ever receive this award.  This award is the highest award given to a governing body for school budgeting and is only bestowed to school systems which have met or exceeded the Meritorious Budget Award Program Criteria.  This program helps school systems build a solid foundation in the skills of developing, analyzing, and presenting a budget.   The new budget format was used in the 2007 - 2008 and 2008 - 2009 budgets.
