The following are recommended reference materials and websites related to the Common Core of State Standards (CCSS)

COMMON CORE OF STATE STANDARDS

CCSS Video 14 minutes long.  Recommended by Jeff Fournier Click here on link:  https://www.teachingchannel.org/videos/common-core-standards-ela?resume=0

Here are some of Nancy Boyles' website recommendations:

She said to check out the states of Utah, New York, Maryland, Colorado and Georgia.

Good primary sources for biographies, essays, memoirs and other "non-fiction" stories.
Good video about text complexity

Good way to get the lexile level of a whole book, not passages though.

This is good for read alouds.
