New Employee Training: School Security and Safety Requirements - Public Act 13-3 (FEMA)

All new school personnel must complete the following course offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): IS-100.SCa: Introduction to the Incident Command System for Schools during the 2014-15 school year. This includes teachers, substitutes, secretaries, custodial staff, nurses, etc. The Emergency Management Institute developed the Introduction to ICS for Schools (IS-100.SCa for Schools) course in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education. Upon completion of the training and successful passing of the test, a certificate will be provided, which must be delivered to the Board of Education Human Resource Department - 311 Hunting Hill Avenue, Middletown. Keep a copy for your records. (Course Length is 3 hours.)

TAKE FINAL EXAM ONLINE. First you will need to register for SID as directed in the test form and initial sign-up. (Note: Test questions are scrambled to protect test integrity.)

Annual Employee Training:

DCF Mandated Training - Click DCF Mandated Training Website which will bring you directly to the DCF website, Connecticut Mandated Reporter Training for School Employees, click the start button.

The training will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. At the end of the training a certificate will be available. Please submit that certificate to the Board of Education Human Resources Department. NOTE:  THIS TRAINING SHOULD BE DONE USING AN INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER.
