Our Community Hub is where we share information about upcoming events, activities, and programs in the Middletown community.

As part of our ongoing commitment to be more environmentally friendly and to ensure stakeholders have quick and easy access to critical information, the District of Middletown Public Schools (MPS) no longer distributes paper flyers. Digital flyer distribution will be the only method of flyer distribution from the District.

MHS Orchestra is raising money for a bus to attend an interactive rehearsal with the Boston Symphony Orchestra! The students are creating holiday gifts to sell at our Coffee House, as well as items created in partnership with the Middletown Transition Center. Orchestra students will perform live music throughout the event. If you would like to support our students but are unable to attend please scan the QR code in the linked flyer below to make a donation, and mark your calendars for our Winter Concert on December 6, 2023 at 7:30pm in the Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center!

Join us for kid-friendly space-related activities led by Wesleyan students, including stargazing with the campus telescopes when it's clear. Aimed at elementary school ages and their parents, but open to all.

Ahavah: The Story of Christmas

Ahavah tells a story of hope in the midst of despair. An imaginative retelling of the story of Jesus’ birth, this production has been running for 18 years, and is now becoming a local Christmas tradition. Ahavah explores the mystery of Christmas, demonstrating how love can shine brightly even in the darkest of times. This is a magical show for the whole family that will surely lift your spirit!

Submissions to the Playbill will be accepted until December 31, 2023; details below:

Unified Theater is a student-driven initiative that facilitates inclusion of students of all abilities through the performing arts. This is Middletown Recreation’s 13th production and the show is dedicated to Q Williams and is about contributing to your community, giving back and paying it forward.

Everyone is so excited this year and we wanted to see if you would like to write a testimony or submit something to be included in the show playbill. Please submit your admissions to Karen.Nocera@middletownct.gov by December 31, 2023.

The show dates are:

  • Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 7:00pm

  • Friday, January 19, 2024 at 7:00pm

  • Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 7:00pm and

  • Saturday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM

All performances will happen at: MHS Performing Arts Center at 200 LaRosa Lane in Middletown.

Middletown Public Schools has family resource centers located at:

  • Farm Hill Elementary (390 Ridge Road)

  • Macdonough Elementary (66 Spring Street)

Space Night at the Van Vleck Observatory

Every Wednesday
8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Join us to learn about what's up in the night sky. Each Space Night starts with a half-hour interactive presentation by a member of our department (astronomy majors, graduate students, or faculty) on a topic of space news or recent discoveries in astronomy, followed by observing through the telescopes when it's clear. Aimed at high school level and above, but all visitors are welcome.
