At Middletown Public Schools, we believe that a student's educational journey begins the moment they step onto the school bus. Our transportation department, in partnership with DATTCO, is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transit that ensures every student arrives at school ready to cultivate their inner brilliance. We view school bus transportation not just as a daily logistical service, but as a vital extension of the classroom that supports consistent attendance, fosters a sense of community, and bridges the gap between home and school. By prioritizing safety and open communication with our families, we work to give parents peace of mind while ensuring that every child has dependable access to the rich educational opportunities across our district.

MPS Bus Tracking App: My Ride K-12

My Ride K-12 app (formerly known as Traversa Ride 360) provides quick and secure access to your child's bus schedule/routing information, which can include the bus stop, route, and bus number.  This program can be accessed via the web or mobile app and is free to download and use.

Existing Users: Please download the newer version of this app by May 1, 2024 called My Ride K-12Ride 360 application will not be operational after May 1, 2024. You will need to download the new version My Ride K-12 (Tyler Technologies, Inc) with your existing user name and password.  Once logged in all your student's information will be transferred over to the new application.  If you have any issues, please contact Transportation Services.

Before downloading the app, please gather these two important pieces of information:

  1. your child's date of birth in this order: Month/Day/Year. Example: March 20, 2012 would be 03/20/2012
  2. your child's student ID number. This can be found in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. (For assistance on locating this ID number, please call your child's school secretary.)
  • To access student routing information through the My Ride K-12 mobile app, do the following:

    1. Download My Ride K-12 from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
    2. After the app installation is complete, open the app (My Ride K-12).
    3. When prompted to find your school district, search for "Middletown Public Schools CT".
    4. Once you have selected our district, you will proceed to the login page. If you already have a registered email, move to step 5 below. If you do not already have a registered email, click Register.
    • To register, enter your email address, a password, and name.
    • After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Tap on the link in your email to confirm your registration through the My Ride K-12 website.

      • Enter the email of the person you would like to share with. That person will receive a confirmation email that will automatically link them to the shared student(s). Recipients must register with My Ride K-12, if they have not already done so, to access the student information.

    1. Regularly check for updates to ensure that your device is using the latest version of the app.
    2. Remain logged in the app to receive district notifications, even when the app is not actively running.

For more information or any ongoing support (such as username and password information, bus stop location questions, or other needs), please contact the MPS Transportation Department.

    • Posted bus routes for pick-up and drop-off times are approximate times only.
    • Please remember that mechanical problems, traffic, weather and other unforeseen circumstances may cause some routes to be early or delayed.
    • As students choose to ride or not to ride the bus during the school year, pick-up and drop-off times are adjusted which may be reflected on the My Ride K-12 app.
      • For example, the elimination of just one bus stop (because students no longer ride or are absent from stop on a particular day) can affect a route by 5-10 minutes.

Bus Stop/Route Changes

Middletown Public Schools want to ensure the utmost safety for your children transporting them to and from school. While most bus stops remain unchanged over the years, it can be necessary to adjust, add, or remove bus stops, based on a variety of factors.

If you would like to request to change your bus stop, inquire about your bus route, or send a general safety concern, please use the MPS Transportation Change/Inquiry form listed below. Please ensure the form is filled out in its entirety for our Transportation Department to contact you.

When a request is received, multiple factors are taken into consideration before the Board of Education makes a determination. Those factors include:

  • Number of stops on a bus route
  • Distance between each stop on the route
  • Bus stop location
  • Number of students at each stop and their ages
  • Overall time & distance of the route
  • Walking distance to the bus stop

All requests are made and considered under the jurisdiction of the Middletown Board of Education. Please note: A request alone is not a guarantee that your stop or route will change. The Board of Education will make the final determination on all changes, and the Transportation Department will communicate any changes in writing.
