Middletown Public Schools 2026-2027 Convocation

Back to School season is upon us, and our Middletown Public Schools teachers are eager and excited to welcome everyone back to the classroom for another wonderful school year ahead! 🍎

It was a packed house Monday morning at Middletown High School's Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center, as teachers were welcomed back at Convocation by Middletown's new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Macary. Dr. Macary spoke about his plans for the upcoming school year and beyond, and the mission of the entire MPS community to help all of our brilliant students grow and achieve fantastic things. ✏️


Middletown Mayor Gene Nocera and Middletown Board of Education Chairwoman Sheila Daniels also spoke at Monday's Convocation to offer their sincere gratitude and praise to all the teachers for their dedication to serving our beloved students.

New teachers were welcomed with open arms to the District, as they begin their first year at Middletown Public Schools. Some teachers were even honored for long tenures of service, hitting major milestones in their educational careers, ranging from 25 years in the District, to one teacher entering his 50th year of teaching at MPS! Congratulations, Mr. Geary! 👏🏻

Teachers are quickly preparing for their children ahead of the first day of school! The rest of the MPS staff will be welcomed back Wednesday for Convocation, before classes start on Thursday, August 27.
