Day Two: Middletown Public Schools 2026-2027 Convocation

The first day of school is Thursday, August 27 for Middletown Public Schools, and we are excited and ready to welcome our students back to the classroom for a brand new school year!

Wednesday marked the second day of Convocation exercises for Middletown Public Schools staff, where employees and staff members joined one another in the Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center at Middletown High School to prepare for the first day of school and beyond.

Staff members heard from Middletown Superintendent Dr. Joseph Macary, who laid out his plans for the upcoming school year, his expectations for the District, and how every single staff member plays a vital role in the success of our young students. Each group of employees was recognized for being an integral part of the formula for success, whether their role is carried out inside the classroom, or outside the school building. 


Assistant Superintendent of Administration Jennifer Cannata and Middletown Board of Education Chairwoman Sheila Daniels also spoke before the staff members gathered at Wednesday's Convocation exercises, reiterating the valuable role of the many staff members employed by Middletown Public Schools, some of which have been already hard at work throughout the summer, preparing our schools, facilities, grounds, and infrastructure for the arrival of our MPS students.
